Timing

  • Most items purchased online or in-store be returned within 30 days of purchase.
  • Hearing aids may be returned within 45 days.
  • You’ll need the original receipt or order number. If you don’t have a receipt, a store manager may approve a return for a gift card refund.

Process

Returns are made in store, for both online and in-store purchases.

Refunds

  • Refunds go back to your original form of payment.
  • Taxes are refunded at the local rate.
  • Cosmetics and electronics returns are at the store manager’s discretion and may be refunded to a gift card.

Non-returnable items

Walgreens does not accept returns for:

  • Gift cards and prepaid/phone cards
  • Mobile phones
  • Bathing suits, underwear, and earrings
  • Sexual wellness items
  • Seasonal products
  • Hazmat items
  • COVID-19 testing kits
  • Prescription products (except when filled in error)

Contact lenses

  • Can be returned only if Walgreens sent the wrong lenses, they’re defective/damaged, or the prescription is wrong.
  • Must be unopened, unexpired, and in original packaging.
  • Made-to-order lenses are not returnable.
  • Contact lenses must be mailed back through Walgreens’ return center (wgreturns.com ), not returned in-store.

Oversized and bulky items

  • Items like electric wheelchairs, scooters, lift chairs, and oversized home medical equipment cannot be returned to a store.
  • Call Customer Care at 1-877-250-5823 for special return instructions.

  • All returns and exchanges are subject to verification and applicable laws.
  • Walgreens reserves the right to limit or refuse returns, especially if there are health/safety risks, signs of abuse of the policy, or fraudulent activity.
  • Policies may change at any time.
