Let’s get practical here. We’re in the throws of wedding season, and you’ve read every blog post there is about what to wear to a wedding. All those tips are fabulous, for sure, but you’re in need of some advice that’s a tad more actionable. Something like a personal shopper to find you a shortlist of plus size dresses for wedding guests. And, those picks must be flattering and budget-friendly.

Never fear, because we’ve got some ideas for you! Don’t tell anyone you heard this from us, but it’s not just the bride’s day to shine. Look your best with one of these five plus size dresses under $50. And if you’re over 60, see our picks for best dresses for the 60-year-old wedding guest.

The Floral Maxi Dress

Plus size dresses for wedding guests collection - the floral maxi dress
Jessica Floral Maxi with High Split, $44.18, Fashion to Figure

Here we have proof that you don’t have to show lots of skin to be sexy. The bold floral print is a head-turner — and then once you’ve got the attention, you’ll hold it thanks to a deep v necklace and curve-enhancing, wrap-style bodice.

Wear this piece to an early-evening outdoor wedding. A nude, heeled sandal and delicate, mid-length necklace will finish off your look perfectly. And brides-to-be, how striking would this dress be for your bridesmaids to wear? After all, anything is possible with florals.

We love this pink lace dress because it’s modest, yet flattering and perfect for a formal occasion. You can pair this garment with nude heels and a white cardigan. And, if you want to play up your sexy curves, add a beige or pink belt.

Fit and Flare with Lace

This dress has all the right features. First, we love that it comes in merlot and black — two colors that look great on all skin tones. We also love that the dress comes with a small belt, that accentuates the waist. The sexy lace pattern on the skirt adds interest and soft pleats make it look far more expensive than $40. To top it off,  the gentle flare of the skirt flatters all body types. And, since it doesn’t hug the body too tightly, you’ll be comfortable wearing it all night long.

Bold Green Jumpsuit

Lorraine Kelly Jumpsuit, $44.99, JDWilliams

You don’t need to wear a dress to a formal event! A jumpsuit is a really nice option when you crave something a little bit different. This piece boasts a gorgeous emerald green color that’s almost universally flattering. It’s made of jersey, known for being comfortable, stretchy and rich-looking. The tie belt will cinch your waist and the pant legs will elongate your legs.

Make this an outfit with high-heeled wedges, gold earrings and an updo!
