New York & Company has a clear return policy with one huge flaw: The store doesn’t offer refunds, only store credit or exchanges. Read on to find out more.

When you can make a return
You have 30 days from the delivery date to return eligible items. Everything must be unworn, unwashed, and in its original condition with tags still attached. Note these important points:
- A $7.99 return shipping fee applies. This amount will be deducted from your store credit or charged to your original form of payment.
- All returns are mailed and you must use the New York & Company label.
- New York & Company doesn’t give refunds. You can exchange the item or receive store credit, but you won’t get your money back.
- Shipping fees are non-refundable.
- Final sale, personalized, and certain promotional items can’t be returned or exchanged.
How to start a return
All returns must be processed through the New York & Company Returns Portal. A prepaid label will be provided there, returns sent using any other label may not be accepted.
Once your return is received and processed, usually within three to 10 business days, you’ll receive an email confirming your store credit or exchange.
How to get store credit
If you choose store credit, you’ll receive a digital gift card by email once your return has been processed. This store credit never expires and can be used anytime at nyandcompany.com.
How to make an exchange
You can exchange your item for the same style in a different size or color through the Returns Portal.
There are two ways to do it:
- Instant exchange: A new order is placed immediately. You’ll need a credit card, but it won’t be charged unless the original item isn’t returned within 14 days.
- Standard exchange: Your replacement is processed once your returned item reaches the warehouse. Expect about 3 to 10 business days for this process.
If something’s wrong with your order
If you received the wrong item or part of your order is missing, contact help@nyandcompany.com within 15 days of delivery.
- For wrong items, include clear photos and your order number.
- For missing items, wait at least five business days after the expected delivery date in case of carrier delays.
