Eddie Bauer wants you to love every piece of gear and clothing you buy, but if something doesn’t fit right or meet your expectations, sending it back is pretty easy. Here’s how the Eddie Bauer return policy works.
Return window
You can return or exchange most items within 60 days of purchase as long as they’re unused, unwashed, and still have proof of purchase. Refunds go back to your original form of payment.

Holiday returns
During the holidays, the window is longer. Purchases made between Oct. 1, 2025, and Dec. 31, 2025, can be returned until Jan. 31, 2026, or within 60 days of the purchase date, whichever gives you more time.
Returning something bought in a store
Items bought in an Eddie Bauer store must be returned in person at one of the store locations. Bring your receipt if you have it. If you’re an Adventure Rewards member, the staff can look up the purchase for you.
Returning online purchases
Most online purchases can be returned either in store or by mail within 60 days. There are a few exceptions though. Some products, like tents, sleeping bags, home goods, and women’s swimsuits, must be mailed back instead of brought to a store.
To make a return:
- Go to Eddie Bauer’s website and create a return label.
- U.S. customers pay a $10 return shipping fee.
- Canadian customers pay a $15 return shipping fee.
- These fees are waived during free return promotions.
Refunds are usually processed within 14 business days for U.S. customers and 30 business days for Canadian customers. You’ll get an email when your refund is being processed.
If you paid with a gift card, Eddie Bauer will send you a new digital gift card for the refund amount.
Exchanges
Eddie Bauer doesn’t do direct exchanges online. You’ll need to return the item and then place a new order for the one you want. If you’d like a price match on your new order, contact their customer service team for help.
Gift returns
If you need to return an Eddie Bauer item you received as a gift, call customer service at 1-800-426-8020. Your rep will guide you through the process and let you know the options.
Product guarantee
Eddie Bauer stands by the quality of its products. If a product has a material or workmanship defect, you can return it within 60 days with proof of purchase for a replacement or refund.
After 60 days or without proof of purchase, you can still exchange or replace the defective item with a similar one in-store for up to one year from the original purchase date.
This guarantee doesn’t cover normal wear and tear, accidental damage, or anything caused by improper use.
Tips for Eddie Bauer returns
- Always keep your receipt or order confirmation to make things faster.
- Use a trackable shipping method if you’re mailing a return.
- If your item shows a return fee but qualifies for free returns, the charge won’t actually be deducted once your return is processed.
