Style is a very personal thing, for sure. But an occasional outside nudge — or even a hard shove — can keep you from falling into the jeans and t-shirt rut. (Yeah, that’s a thing. I checked!) Of course, Instagram and Pinterest serve up nudges as endless streams of gorgeous/ interesting/ fun outfit posts.
When you need the hard shove, though, an outfit post may not cut it. This post is for tor those days when you need broader style inspiration, plus a touch of self-validation. I asked three of my favorite bloggers to share their take on personal style. Read on to meet the Latina Carrie Bradshaw, a stylish super mom, and one of the web’s best deal-finders!
Berty Morales, Mad for Fashion for Less
Style Advice from Berty
Don’t let insecurity get in the way — nobody on this planet is perfect. You must see the real you in the mirror and not the person you wish you could be. Love the person you see in that mirror and accept “You” just the way you are, with flaws and all. Never be afraid of accessorizing, play with colors, and have fun by mixing different prints and patterns.
Berty, in Her Own Words
My style is very versatile! I normally try not to follow too many trends, but when I do, I always make sure that my outfits are unique and different!
A little secret about me: I’m not your twenty-something-year blogger either. I’m a #Fashionista in my 30+ years, with a passion for fashion from a very young age – and I consider myself the “Latina Carrie Bradshaw.” LOL
You can have anything you want in life if you dress for it.
Shay, in Her Own Words
I’m Shay Moné, a fashion blogger residing in Houston, Texas with my husband (the man behind the camera) Ahmad, and my two children Aubri J & Ashton J. My life is changing daily raising two children, but one thing that always remains the same is my love and passion for fashion and home style. Shay Moné is an outlet for me to share my journey of my personal, home decor style, and all that life throws at me being a mom. I hope you follow along, and are inspired by what I have to share.
Looking great does not have to be expensive. There are so many great deals to get clothes at discounted prices. I’ve found brand new with tag items at my local thrift store! I’ve also found that there are plenty of great deals online if you know where to look.
A favorite of mine for clothing is thredUP for gently used clothing. I’ve gotten some great deals when items go on sale. Plus, if you refer your friends you get a $10 credit that even covers your shipping cost – which is what helped really make me fall in love with them!
For makeup, it’s a toss up between Coastal Scents and Elf Cosmetics because both offer makeup at low prices and both always have some sort of sale or discount going on. I notice they also change their sales pretty frequently as well.
