JC Penney’s Return Policy: Store bought items with tags and a valid receipt may be returned within 60 days from the date of purchase. You can also contact their catalog center and have them ship you out a free shipping label , to be able to return items by mail.

JC Penney: Online Return Policy
Any returned items accompanied by a receipt dated within 90 days of purchase will be refunded at the original purchase price, plus applicable sales tax, in the original payment method. No refund will be issued after 90 days. Refunds and exchanges made without a receipt and purchased within 90 days will reflect the lowest “on sale” price within the last 30 days, plus applicable sales tax. A refund will be issued only in the form of Merchandise Return Voucher or credit on a JCPenney account. Items may be returned to a JCPenney store or|catalog desk or by mail.

Furniture purchases may be returned within 7 days from the delivery with the original sales receipt.

Fine Jewelry must be returned to the supplier within 60 days of receiving your order with the original sales receipt. Return instructions will be included with your order. Personalized jewelry cannot be returned unless damaged or defective.

Special Occasion Dresses must be returned in their original condition with the “return tag” in place.

Small electrics, electronics and major appliances must be returned within the 60 days of purchase with the original sales receipt. The item must be returned in its original packaging and with all accompanying manuals and accessories. All manufacturers’ warranties are in effect.

Gift registry purchases of categories must be returned within 90 days of event with verification of registry.

Online Outlet priced merchandise must be returned within 30 days accompanied with the original receipt.

Monogrammed, personalized and altered items cannot be returned unless damaged or defective.

Made-to-Measure window coverings and rugs cannot be returned unless damaged or defective. Includes made-to-order and made-to-length window coverings.

I have a comforter that is a little over a year old - I paid $300 for it - and also bought sheets, throw pillows at the same time. The comforter has never been washed or dry cleaned; however, the "fill" of the comforter has shifted and I now have several lumps - I am extremely disappointed with this comforter and it looks horrible on the bed. I feel that the store should stand behind the quality of the spread. I'd like to return it to the store where it was purchased, and I feel that I should be compensated in some way. Please advise. P.S. I purchased a "bed in a bag" from TJ Maxx about 10 years ago - comforter, shams, sheets, dust ruffle - the comforter is still in perfect condition - ? I paid $50 for that bed in a bag.
