Summer Fashion: The Beach Cover-up

| June 6, 2008 06:00 PM | Posted in ,

“THESE PRODUCTS ARE NO LONGER BEING SOLD”

Almost as important as the swimsuit (and generally eminently more wearable) is the cover-up. We love them because they make the long walk from the beach chair to the bathhouse soooooooo much less cringe-inducing. A tip? Try on your cover-up to make sure it’s long enough, roomy enough, and cut right so that you are comfortable in it—cool colors and fluid shapes make for the most chic beach/pool cover-ups this season, and getting them for less is tres easy. That’s French for no-brainer.

Some cover-ups we like:

Jersey Cover-Up Dress, on sale $29.50, Eddie Bauer

pictured: Women’s Plus Strapless Swim Cover-up, $26.50, at Old Navy.

Xhilaration Dress Coverup, $17.99, at Target.

My favorite is the one pictured. I love cover-ups. It’s like a whole new outfit when you leave the beach and wear your suit under it. They’re really handy when there’s a restaurant or bar on the shore that you walk to from the sand. The cover up lets you dress appropriately without having to bring a whole new outfit along.

I love cover ups! I recently got a cover up called a Towelini and it was great. It’s cool because you can use it like a beach towel as well. Any way, I just wanted to mention that. You can see it on www.towelini.com
