In the world of punk style, British designer Vivienne Westwood’s name is sculpted in history. Together with her husband Malcolm McLaren, they revolutionized the punk fashion style and made it mainstream. Westwood never failed to include some British elements on her designs but she reveals it through a shocking mix of unusual elements that she made from modern interpretation of 17th-18th century principles, ethnic Peruvian designs, feminine figure, velvet, knitwear and the occasional plaid print. From starting out in their shop, Westwood’s designs became a global hit and since then she has been recognized three times as the British Fashion Designer of the Year Award and a DBE in the 2006 New Year’s Honours List for her devoted services to fashion.
