Torrid return policy: How to process returns

The Budget Fashionista provides this review of the Torrid return policy for informational purposes only. These policies are subject to change.

Not every order ends up being a perfect match, and that’s okay. Torrid makes it easy to return things you don’t love so you can get your money back or try something new without any stress.

Torrid’s return policy

You have up to 60 days from the date on your receipt or packing slip to start a return. This means you should start the return process within two months of buying your item.

If something is damaged or missing, contact Torrid’s Customer Service team for help right away.

If you want a different size or color, it’s best to just buy it quickly since Torrid’s styles often sell out fast.

Torrid return policy: How to return items to Torrid.

How to return items

You can return things in two ways: by mail or in person at a Torrid store.

Return by mail:

  • Start your return through Torrid’s online return portal.
  • Pack up your item and include your packing slip.
  • Use the shipping label you get from the portal to send it back.
  • For most people, a $6 return shipping fee is deducted from your refund.

If you live in Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico, or another U.S. territory, you’ll need to pay your own return shipping costs. VIP members in the 48 mainland states get free returns. VIP members outside those states get a $20 reward credited to their account instead.

Once your package arrives, it usually takes about one to two weeks for Torrid to process the return and issue your refund.

Return to a store:

  • Bring the item, along with your store receipt or packing slip, to any Torrid store.
  • A store associate will help you with the return right away.

Some payment types can’t be returned in-store:

  • Klarna and Apple Pay purchases can only be returned by mail.
  • Google Pay can only be returned by mail.
  • PayPal purchases can be returned by mail or to U.S. stores only.

If you bought a Torrid item from another retailer (like a department store or website that sells Torrid), you have to return it to that store, not Torrid.

What you can’t return

Some things are final sale, which means you can’t return them for any reason. These include:

  • Clearance or final sale items
  • Washed or worn clothing
  • Earrings and cosmetics
  • Panties, lingerie sets, and tights
  • Items missing their tags or original packaging, such as shoe boxes
  • Gift cards (they can’t be canceled or refunded)

You can cancel an e-gift card before it’s sent out by contacting Torrid’s e-gift card support team by phone or email.

Refunds and timing

Refunds are usually sent to your original payment method once Torrid receives and processes your return. But keep in mind:

  • The $6 mail return fee will be subtracted from your refund (unless you’re a VIP with free returns).
  • Processing may take one to two weeks.

Does Torrid have a good return policy?

The Budget Fashionista rates the Torrid return policy as good, with a score of 4.2 points out of 5. Torrid gives you 60 days to return most items, as long as they’re clean, unwashed, and have their tags. Returning to a store is free and fast, while mailing it back has a small fee unless you’re a VIP member.

Our Return Policy Score™ score evaluates the key return policy factors shoppers care about most: return window length, condition requirements, refund method, shipping costs, in-store return flexibility, marketplace transparency, processing speed, and overall policy clarity. Each category is rated on a 1 to 5 scale based on how generous, convenient, and easy to understand the policy is. The final score is an average of all categories.
