Sephora return policy
- If you’re not satisfied with a Sephora purchase or gift, Sephora accepts returns of new or gently used products for a full refund to the original method of payment if returned within 30 days of purchase. Proof of purchase is required.
- Effective date: This policy applies to all purchases made on or after April 24, 2025.
- Refunds and exchanges are subject to verification. If return activity appears excessive or fraudulent, Sephora may refuse returns.
Holiday returns
In-store and online purchases made between Oct. 31, 2025 and Dec. 30, 2025 can be returned or exchanged through Jan. 30, 2026. The purchases qualify for in-store exchanges or store credit. Online purchases can be returned for online credit, and in-store purchases can be returned for in-store credit.
Sephora.com purchases
- Return method: Return by mail using a prepaid label or return to a Sephora store. You can return Sephora.com or Sephora store purchases to a Sephora at Kohl’s.
- Timeframe and condition: Within 30 days of purchase; items must be new or gently used; proof of purchase required. Items are not accepted past the return window — they may be returned to you.
- Refunds: Refund goes to the original payment method (credit/debit, PayPal, Klarna/Afterpay). Gift card purchases are refunded as store credit or gift card. Original shipping charges are not refunded.
Sephora.ca (Canada) purchases
- Return method: Return by mail using a prepaid label or return to a Sephora Canada store.
- Timeframe and condition: Within 30 days of purchase; items must be new or gently used; proof of purchase required.
- Refunds: Refund goes to the original payment method (credit/debit, PayPal, Klarna/Afterpay). Gift card purchases are refunded as store credit or gift card.
Recent changes
- Sephora ended its previous policy allowing returns or exchanges (or store credit) for 31 to 60 days after purchase. The standard policy is now a strict 30-day window for full refunds.
- The older tiered-credit system (where refunds after 30 days were issued as store credit) is no longer part of the standard policy.
Non-returnable items
- Products marked Final Sale cannot be returned.
- Gift cards are non-refundable.
- Items must be new or gently used; heavily used or damaged items may be rejected.
- Sephora reserves the right to refuse any return, especially when fraud or policy abuse is suspected.
