Vera Wang is famous for her nonchalant approach to style and luxury. The native New Yorker creates clothes that are easy to fall in love with, easy to look fabulous in, and best of all, easy to fit into your budget. It’s been four years since Wang launched her first Simply Vera collection, and it’s still funny to think that some of the most gorgeous, enviable clothes can be found at Kohl’s– not that we’re complaining. No matter the woman’s age, shape or income, Wang has imagined a collection in which to dress her simply and beautifully.
Check out our review of the Simply Vera Collection for Spring 2011
Wang’s spring 2011 is classic Vera: feminine details like ruffles and jeweled embellishments, dresses in flirty and refreshing colors and patterns and accessories that are on-trend without being too trendy. After all, part of Wang’s easy approach to style is saving us the trouble of overhauling our entire wardrobe every year. We love Wang’s floral frocks– many of which can be worn this fall as well, and we’re mad about the collection’s new investment pieces (such as the $98 classic trench above), which can be layered with clothes you’ve already got in your closet. Here are some of our favorites:
For the office
This perfect working-girl dress ($68) transitions from a day at the desk to a night on the town. The floral and ruffle details are a ladylike way to show some personality through your outfit, and you can add more attitude by accessorizing with this multilayer swag necklace ($36) and booties ($80). Even better: add a cardigan and wear this dress through the fall.
For the weekend
How gorgeous are these blue hues? When it comes to spring chic, blue is the new black, and we love how Wang has layered different shades of the classic color with pieces that look great together or apart. The basic white tee ($44), mock collar jacket ($74) and denim capris ($48) look anything put plain, especially with help from that gorgeous scarf ($30) and tote ($139).
For special occasions
When an LBD doesn’t cut it, this skirt ($48) and top ($40) combo does. Wang’s drool-worthy separates are the strongest aspect of this collection, and this look is a prime example. Whether for weddings, dates or other events, this head-turning ensemble is every bit as effortlessly fabulous as it looks. Wang uses this schooldaze satchel ($79) to give a minimalist edge to an otherwise ultra-feminine look, and to beautiful effect.
