Scoop Returns: What We’re Loving from the Walmart Line

Fashion enthusiasts may remember the demise of Scoop NYC, the beloved boutique that closed its doors in 2016. Since 1996, it had served a niche group of discerning clientele who considered it the go-to source for emerging designers. Scoop NYC was a favorite among celebrities—Carolyn Bessette-Kennedy regularly frequented the SoHo location—and it appeared frequently in “Sex and the City.”

Good news: The beloved brand is back with a refreshed image! And we have retail giant Walmart to thank — the mass retailer landed the rights to the Scoop name and has launched a new line at budget prices. With over 100 pieces in the range, the new Scoop is worth a glance. Here are a few highlights from the iconic brand.

Scoop NYC Reboot: What to Buy Now

Fit-and-flare dress

What every wardrobe needs: An effortless fit-and-flare dress that works well whether you’re headed out to happy hour after work or meeting up with friends on the weekend.

This piece is easy to dress up or down, and can be styled in myriad ways. Throw on a scarf, a moto jacket, and booties to toughen it up a little. Or slip on a complementary cardigan and step into low-profile pumps for a sensible corporate ensemble.

Slouch boots

If you’re on the hunt for a great pair of boots for the coming months but don’t want to go overboard on your spending, take a peek at the Penny slouch boot. It’s available in brown and black, and features a chic scrunched finish to add a little flair to the stack-heel silhouette.

Pull these on over skinny jeans, or wear them to the office with a midi skirt and a blouse.

Oversized turtleneck

Oversized in the best way, the label’s turtleneck sweater is the kind of thing you’re going to wear all season long. It’s roomy enough that you can afford to size down. And it looks great paired with anything from skinny jeans and knee-high boots to tailored pants and ballet flats.

Button-down denim skirt

A denim skirt is one of those quintessential wardrobe basics that you can always trust to come through when you don’t know quite what to wear. This one has the added advantage of being versatile enough to wear throughout fall with tall boots and a sweater. It’s equally cute with flat sandals and a simple tee when the weather warms up.

Peplum top

There’s always room in the closet for an elegant blouse, especially one as eye-catching as this peplum top. It’s available in a trio of hues, each perfect for adding a little shot of additional style to your fall and winter workwear. This top also looks super chic with a pair of jeans and your favorite heels on a night out.
