Five Fashion Tips for Petite Fashionistas

It ain’t easy being petite. Hems need constant alterations, bold patterns can overwhelm your frame and long dresses can exaggerate your lack of height. Sigh. But fear not, we have five fashionable staples for those 5’4 and under.

Don’t worry about heading to your tailor with these bad boys. The shorter inseam is perfect for the vertically challenged and the slight flare pairs will with a pointed toe boot or heel.

One option for petite fashionista’s looking for stylish dresses (read: non-grandma) is to purchase mini dresses (which will hit you closer to your knee). Glam up the mini dress with nude heels to give the illusion of mile long legs.

A heel is a great way to add a bit of height. However if teetering in stilettos isn’t your idea of fun, opt for a wedge, which gives height plus stability.

I love the shape of the Express sweater! Hopefully white is not the only color.

Love these pieces! Question: Can shorties wear dresses with a drop waist? I saw one I liked the other day, but didn't even try it on because I assumed it would be too overwhelming. FYI for New Yorkers, I always get my jeans on the cheap at Uniqlo. Every year they have a 2 jeans for $50 sale and they do tailoring for FREE!
