Here’s something that no one ever talks about: conscientiously conservative dressers who still want to participate in seasonal trends – yes, conservative girls want to be fashionable too. Unfortunately, most of the high fashion or trendy items one might find on flash sale sites tend to be of the less-than-conservative variety. Enter Mode-sty, a discount flash sale site that caters to women who like to show just a little less without sacrificing style.

Says founder Zahra Aljabri, a young Minneapolis attorney (via Mashable.com) “I’m a conservative dresser, I tend to have friends who are conservative dressers, and we kept having the same struggles … We wanted to follow the trends, and we wanted to find a way to do it that was better than layering with camisoles and jackets or taking things to tailors.”

Three coverage categories (low, medium and full) and a stable of designers (including BCBG Maxazria andRachel Roy) later, Mode-sty is in full force, bringing the flash sales phenomenon to conservative women all over. And the flash sales model may be just a stepping stone to a broader retail model.

Our thoughts? We’ve ALWAYS been about equal access to stylish and on-trend clothing, so we’re totally on board.
