It’s fall, so that means it’s time to clean out your beauty drawer and stock up on the latest beauty products for fall. This season, we’re breaking down the trends for you, without breaking the bank!

Fall 2010 is all about shimmery mauves and dark lavenders on your eye lids. It goes without saying that when highlighting eyes, keep the rest of the face basic and vice versa.

Purple Eyeshadow

Maybelline Eye Studio Plush Silk Eyeshadow, Legend Lilac at ULTA, $9.99

Burnt Lip Colors
Shocking tones of bright oranges ( a la Prada) and gold were seen on the runways this season.

Burnt Lip Colors

1. Fashion fair lipstick in Ole Orange at Dillard’s, $15
2. NYC Tainted Lip Spa in Copacabana at Ulta, $5

Berry Lips
It may appear black out of the tube, but it spreads across your lips in a luscious berry hue, giving off an irresistible, sultry aura. So you can stay on trend but not veer too much towards the goth look.

Berry Lips
Metallic Nails
This trend is all about being a little vampy, a little sultry, and all perfection.

Metallic Nails
Gem Hues Nails
There’s nothing more enticing than jewel toned nails. Especially for winter, when we’re garbed in camels and nudes.

OPI Nail Polish

OPI Caliente Coral Nail Polish at Sephora, $9

Slicked Back Hair
The wet look from the late 80s is making a serious comeback, a la designers Prabal Gurung and Jason Wu.

Aveda Hairspray

This stunning pink hue adds a touch of juicy, just pinched look, as seen at Armani and Philip Lim.

Clinique Butter Shine

Clinique Butter Shine Lipstick in Baby Baby, $14 at Dillard’s

Red Eyeliner
If you have eyes that are closer in color to green than blue, red will look stellar on you. We saw this trend at everyone’s favorite new label, Altuzarra and on Rihanna, case closed. Make sure to smudge on your lower lash line, and not above.

Red Eyeliner

MAC Cremestick Liner at Macy’s, $14

Extreme Lashes
If you’re not a fan of the full, Barbie-esque eyelashes, we’d recommend you try out the trend seen at large at Louis Vuitton, Vivienne Tam, Chado Ralph Rucci and YSL.Try putting shimmery white shadow and then dark, big lashes. The effect will be dramatic, perfect for the evening.

Extreme Lashes

1. MAC 3 Lash Fake Lashes at Nordstrom, $14
2. Loreal Double Extend Lash Boosting Mascara at Target, $9.39

I agree with brooklynbee. $21 nail polish, $22 lip gloss, not budget items. Though if I wasn’t on a budget, I’d totally get them.

that was a total mistake on our part. We’re fixing it.. $21 bucks for nail polish IS NOT budget

  • Tashi

With all due respect, I offer a slight correction to a posted item: The Tainted Lip Spa lipstick is by NYX, not NYC (as was stated in the list). 🙂 The brand is indeed sold at Ulta, as I’ve seen it there. Not sure where else one may buy it.

You think $21 nail polish is considered a “budget” item? Interesting.

    • TBF

oh no.. that is not correct. we will look into and change it
