The Best Fruits and Vegetables for Your Face

After a decadent weekend of chocolate, cookies, and other treats (re: candy), I’m totally looking for ways to freshen up my skin. I just feel sort of laden, ya know? So after a good workout (re: sweat) to get the cleanse going, here are my favorite fruits and veggies that you can put on your face for fantastic skin.

1. Carrot mask.


Take two carrots and three tbs of honey. Cut the carrots, cook until soft. Cool. Mash and mix with honey, them smooth on face for 10 minutes. Rise with cool water. Feel the vitamin A soaking in!

2. Avocado mask.


Mash up one or two avocados. Smear on skin. Great for dry skin as the fatty acids and creamy texture will assist in moisturizing and soothing. Rinse well with hot water so you don’t clog your pores!

3. Lemon toner.


Add lemon juice and honey to cool water to make DIY toner. Lemon is a great astringent for oily skin, and the honey acts to soothe. Make sure to rinse well with cool water – toner tends to clean out pores and tighten them up, so follow up with a non-oily moisturizer.

4. Orange Peel revitalize.


Take two egg yolks, two tsp honey, 1/4 cup of orange juice, 2 packets gelatin. Mix, spread on skin, let sit for 20 minutes. Rinse well. Think of this mix as your “good morning” eye-opener.

5. Banana moisturizer.


Yep! Soft, creamy, and wonderfully smooth. Simply mash up a banana and add a bit of olive oil (or simply use as-is) and pat on your face. Great to hydrate and as you know – full of vitamins like potassium.
