Budget clothes shopping online can be a challenge, but budget makeup shopping? It’s kind of the Mount Everest of Internet shopping on the cheap. While there’s discount clothing outlets abound, good discount makeup is just much harder to come by. Enter BeautyTicket.com. We’re not talking drugstore brands here—it’s premium make-up at big discounts. Think Pout, Pixi, PopBeauty, Sephora, Smashbox, Stila. Yeah, that made us sit up and take notice too, so here’s the scoop.
Our review: BeautyTicket.com has all the traits of a site we’d want to come back to—visual appeal, simple layout, easy navigation. Shop by category (makeup, haircare, bath and body, etc.) or price (our favorite is the “Under $5” section, where we found this Hard Candy Bling Bling for Eyes for just $3.99—regularly $16—and this IMAN Moisturizing Lipstick, normally $13, for $2.99. And we do love us some Iman Make-up). Everywhere we clicked, we found quality namebrand products at really deep discounts – up to 85% off.
Like any “outlet” type shopping site however, you won’t find a huge selection of products. You’re getting the benefit of great deals on surplus/clearance items that BeautyTicket has bought from beauty companies (like a Marshall’s or TJ Maxx, but with beauty goods), so if you really need a specific color/brand/product, let’s face it—it’s probably not here. But if you’re just looking for, say, a quality lipgloss on the cheap and are flexible, something like this Smashbox Lip Enhancing Gloss for just $4.99 is just the, er, ticket.
For us, the real upside of the clear-out variety of shopping is that new products and brands are added every week, which makes return visits kind of like a make-up treasure hunt. And BeautyTicket.com guar-an-tees that all products are never used or expired, never opened, authentic, and full retail size. Really want to get a jump on that next big beauty deal? Sign up for e-mail alerts to get the jump on the shopping competition.
BeautyTicket.com is a beauty bloggers’ friend as well, including links to “featured blogs” where you the reader can get more make-up tips and info on deals, while the bloggers get a chance to expand their readership. Which kinda warms our blogging hearts.
The verdict: Yea. Premium make-up, up to 85% off, on a site that’s user-friendly and, most importantly, legit? What’s not to love?
