What: Fans of The Office, take note. You may still be searching to find your own “Jim,” but that doesn’t mean you can’t hurry up the process by picking up the same wedding gown that Pam Beesly wore on last night’s episode of The Office. Pam’s crinkle chiffon A-line wedding gown (style T9552) is currently selling for $399 at David’s Bridal stores nationwide, while the silver dresses her bridesmaids wore (style F12732) are selling for just $145 a piece.
What David’s Bridal Says:
“As an experienced and stylish businesswoman, Pam Beesly knows that choosing David’s Bridal, the nation’s most trusted bridal authority, will guarantee a beautiful wedding.”
What We Say: Okay the above sentence read just a little too “markety” for our taste- but we still love Pam and think this is a great example of product placement done the right way. It would have been weird to see Pam heading down the aisle in a $4000 Vera Wang, but David’s Bridal is just right her alley.
What: The lovely leading ladies of “All My Children” will don a wardrobe by New York & Company for the month of March - we predict that the clothes will be more realistic than the plot lines.
From Soaps.com:
“Throughout the month of March, New York & Company will outfit Kendall, Krystal, Erica, Bianca, Reese, Angie, Natalia, Opal, Colby, Amanda…The retailer will take into account each of the character’s jobs and interests. For example, fans won’t see Kendall dressed in the same way that Taylor or Angie would dress.”
What We Say: Seems like daytime drama is pretty in tune with its fashion-forward but frugal female audience. This is definitely a campaign that has no losers - we get some great ideas for new, relatively affordable looks (while learning about scandalous love triangles and evil twins - hey, at least it’s not “Passions”) and New York & Company gets to advertise to its target consumer. Kathryn was able to visit the set of the show (and meet Susan Lucci, who is AMAZING in person.. Kathryn can’t stop gushing), talk with the show’s costume designer and see the fashions on the characters first hand. The result? You won’t be able to tell the difference between the New York & Co fashions and the higher end items they usually wear. Kathryn was a big fan of a khaki green shirt dress, worn by AMC character Krystal Chandler, which goes for $54.95.
