We’re still in fashion overload after watching the opening ceremonies of the Beijing Olympics (because you know we’re watching for the uniforms—like the Ralph Lauren-designed US team ensembles), but all this Olympic frenzy got us thinking perhaps it’s time to update our own athletic gear (just in case we actually leave the computer long enough to exercise). Style and athletics has long been a tough balance to strike (um, just ask Venus and Serena Williams), and doing it on a budget is even more challenging. We do kinda like the EleVen line by Venus at Steve and Barry’s, which features some cute and functional—if somewhat unremarkable—pieces that are undeniably affordable. But we want to know—where do you get stylish and quality athletic gear for less?
TBF has rounded up the latest style reading on the web, so you don’t have to do all that searching:
~ Got Olympic fever? Start with Boston.com’s fashionable approach to the games, an opiniated take on team uniforms, then pop over to I Am Fashion’s rundown of Ralph Lauren’s Olympic Collection.
~ FocusOnStyle.com goes color crazy with it’s guide on “How to Wear Color”. You seriously won’t even need coffee to wake up after viewing this eye-popping page . . . oh, and there’s good advice, too.
~ Nitro:licious delivers New York & Company’s Fall 2008 preview straight to us, Lookbook and all. Nice!
~ Where do online fashionistas go for a quick style fix? The New York Times gives you the rundown on popular online style destinations —they forgot to give us our props, but we’ll forgive them just this one time.
Want to discuss what you read about? Mosey on over to the TBF Forum and put in your two cents . . .or three . . .
