TBF fav, TJ Maxx, is opening its second Manhattan location at 96th and Columbus in the recently developed Columbus Village (next to the new Whole Foods). For those of us who live Uptown, this is a godsend, as the designer for less clothing pickins’ are slim to none on the UWS. The store features a new look that is already in more than 235 TJ Maxx stores, with redesigned dressing rooms, a stylish check-out counter, and some awesome deals (more Jimmy Choos for $100? Maybe a Zac Posen handbag for $75?). The store opens on October 29th from 8am-8pm, with regular store hours Mon-Sat from 9:30am-9:30pm and 11am-8pm on Sun. Trust that you’ll see me getting my “Maxxinista” on next week.
Congratulations to the SATC Contest Winners!
About a month ago, we held an awesome Sex and the City contest. We can finally announce the winners and congratulate them on their fabulous prizes! Gabriela and her three lucky friends are going on an all-expense-paid trip to New York City complete with a tour of all the famous Sex and the City hotspots, all courtesy of NYC and Company, the city’s official tourism organization. Okay, we’re a little jealous, but we hope they have an amazing time!
Rosemary won a sweet VISA gift card worth 500 bucks! We congratulate her and wish her a shopping expedition that we can only dream about. The possibilities for that $500 are endless—we don’t know how she’s going to choose!

Cover Girl Casting Call in NYC
The Queen (Latifah that is), will be in NYC next week searching for the next Covergirl for
her CoverGirl Queen make-up collection. All women of color—from Latina to African American—ages 18-48 are invited to strut their stuff in front of a panel of judges, including Queen Latifah herself. Contestants will be asked to share their story as to how they have achieved both inner and outer beauty -whether it was through a recent accomplishment, community service, overcoming an obstacle or standing up for something they were passionate about.
