Being a professional woman, especially these days, does NOT mean you have an income — or budget — befitting your hard work OR your position. Unfortunately, no one you work with cares how broke you are (darn it!) and expects you to show up looking, well, professional. And then there’s also the old adage, ‘dress for the job you want, not the job you have.’ Could there be any more pressure to look great? This, our budget fashionista friends, is why god created New York & Company. But, as with all retailers, there’s a right way to shop and a less-than-right way to shop. Some tips so your trip falls into the former category.

TBF never misses a good preview, especially one on the top floor of the Trump Soho (oh the views!). So we took some time and checked out New York & Company’s Spring 2011 Collection.
The slogan for this collection is “NY Style springs eternal” and we’re honestly not really sure what this means, but the line is certainly covering a lot of bases. Their noted trends ranged from military-inspired items, the ubiquitous 1970’s and lots of feminine detail. Generally, we feel New York & Co. is best for work attire, and this collection did not persuade us otherwise.
