What: Robin attempts to spruce up her nails with Revlon Cuticle Moisture Cream, $7.99.

The Lowdown: I wish I had more time for weekly manicures, but I don’t. (Truth is, I have two young kids and I’m lucky when I can snag a morning shower without a whining audience.) When it comes to my nails, they’ve always been pathetic looking—short, thin, surrounded by ugly cuticles and the occasional hangnail. Enter Revlon’s Cuticle Moisture Cream, which comes in a container small enough to keep in your purse. The packaging claims a unique Protanical complex that features a blend of essential oils, vitamins and advanced ingredients to help strengthen, condition and shield nails from daily stress. The cream, is light, fluffy and not greasy, with a refreshing lemon mandarin sage scent that smells like something out of a spa. After applying the cream to my nails a couple times a day for a week, I truly think my nails look so much better. I’m happy! Maybe my next career will be as a hand model . . .

Yea or Nay: Yea. It’s the quickest nail fix around.

Buy It: @ RiteAid.com.

What: Angela gives Boots Meditteranean Olive, Almond & Sage Wonderbalm a whirl.

The Lowdown: The name is a mouthful, especially for such an unassuming product in a little bitty tub—one wonders if it could possibly live up to it. Boots, of course, is a huge beauty brand in Britain that made its way across the pond earlier this year. I, for one, am very glad it did, as this balm is really a great find.

Made from organic ingredients blended to provide dry-skin relief, it’s perfect for smoothing on those small areas we all have trouble with—knees, elbows. Heels. Lips. And, my favorite, cuticles—having long battled unfortunate cuticle problems, I’ve found that just a few days of smoothing Boots Wonderbalm along those rough edges has made a huge difference.

Yea or Nay: For the cuticles alone, a Yea, and the rest is just icing on the cake.

Buy It: @ Target, $8.99 for .84 fl. oz., which actually goes a long way.

Neutrogena Instant Nail Enhancer, about $7 for .20 oz.

What: Angela buffs up with Neutrogena’s manicure alternative, the Instant Nail Enhancer.

The Lowdown: Let me just say right now that I love this product. For those of us who don’t always have time to indulge in a manicure, or even to sit around and wait for polish to dry, this is the next best option. It promises to brush on fast, dry instantly, and leave a healthy-looking sheen, and it delivers on all counts. It also claims to strengthen nails with Vitamin E and Provitamin B5, while letting nails breathe. Breathing is good, I’m guessing, so thumbs up on that. But I’m just happy that they look so darn nice.

Yea or Nay: Big, shiny-nailed Yea. Just remember, it’s still up to you to file those nails into shape, and keep your cuticles under control.

Buy it: @ the beauty aisle of your local drugstore.
