It’s March and the winter weather is beginning to break. Before you know it, it will be June and we all know what that means, wedding season. Right now brides are getting all their planning done and saving the best task for last, finding that special gown.

Had trouble getting ready this morning for work? Well, take a note from Hills star, Lauren Conrad. In a charm printed top and high waisted bandage
skirt, Lauren looks like she is ready for a day at the office. The pencil skirt is a wardrobe staple that everyone has in their closet (If you don’t, get one ASAP!). Pairing this versatile piece with silk or chiffon tops for work will easily give you that sexy secretary look. Choose a pair of high heeled peep toe pumps to lengthen your legs.

If you ever wondered how to make black look edgy and cool then take a few notes from Dakota Fanning. The young starlet looked vampire chic in an all black Acne ruffle tiered dress with a cascading ruffled jacket. An all black outfit can be bland if you don’t have the right accessories or details to individualize the look. Fanning’s choice of ruffles and a layered silver necklace add a feminine touch while the leather gloves and suede over the knee boots pull the look together. Black never looked so cool.

Many professional stylist say you should never mix trends, but, Anne Hathaway does a great job of mixing two trends in one outfit. The tie waist pleated pants and sequin top are a match made in heaven. This outfit could easily be worn to a friends casual house party or for drinks after work. Sequins were one of the biggest trends for 2009 and it looks like it will be around for 2010. A sequin top adds excitement and interest to any outfit. You can wear it under a blazer or cardigan for work and once 5PM hits, take that blazer or cardi off and let this sparkly number shine on its own. The tie waist pleated pants set the stage for the sequin top. The key to pulling off two trends is to choose pieces that don’t compete with each other, but, compliment each other. Sky high heels are always appropriate for evening. Try a textured round toe platform pump like Anne’s to increase the interest level of your outfit.
