With a new stimulus package partially geared to create green jobs in our economy, it seems that the green landscape is becoming, well, greener. As going green becomes increasingly important, we’ll be offering our Budget Fashionistas a weekly glimpse into what’s going on in the world of green lifestyle and living, and how we’re going to save you money without missing the train at The Budget Ecoist.
This week, MSNBC.com did a feature on the tons of chemicals we bring into our home via questionable cleaning products. The Budget Ecoist offered up a collection of easy, eco, inexpensive ways to clean your bathroom.
Of course Easter is just around the corner. Supereco.com gave us some great ideas on how to green your Easter, and linked to The Budget Ecoist’s post on prepping for a greener, leaner Easter.
Finally, if the holidays have you stocking up on food, throwing out leftovers, and generally overwhelmed by the waste of food and money, check out our three-part series on “Storing food in an eco and budget-friendly manner.” Start with a kitchen evaluation, and then learn how to properly buy and store bulk food you will use, and finally, learn how to easily grow and store your own food.
Huffington Post touted plans to start your own victory garden at home by growing strawberries. Likewise, The Budget Ecoist posted at Greenopia about saving money via planting your own tomatoes (in all sorts of small spaces!).
