The Deal: Save on sale items at Beauty.complus get free Shipping on ANY purchase.
The Lowdown: Being a fashionista is all about what you’re wearing, right? Well, that’s part of the picture—but split ends, winter-dry skin, and dark circles aren’t exactly the best accessories, so keeping your beauty product supply stocked is important too. Being budget fashionsitas, of course, we refuse to drop a car payment on a teeny tiny jar of cream ($230 for 2 oz. of Creme de La Mer? Please.)
Beauty.com is one of our favorite online beauty stops, because not only do they have the products we like but their sales, clearance, and frequent free shipping offers save us cash and mean we can avoid those annoying department store cosmetic counters altogether. Winter’s still around, so fend off straw-like winter hair pick up something protective like this Phytopetite Smooth & Sleek set, for $10.50, or treat yourself to a late-winter home spa experience with this Lavanila Laboratories Vanilla Coconut Healthy Luxuries Set , on sale for $69.30 (still waaaay cheaper than that tropical vacation you can’t afford anyway. Sigh).

If you ask any fashionista where their shopping weaknesses lie, you’ll probably get one of two answers—shoes, or handbags. Or both. Those two areas are also where, we’d argue, that are worth spending a little more on, in the name of investment. You can save a bunch by dressing head to ankle in Target, Forever21, Gap and up the style factor infinitely by pairing your bargain duds with a really great pair of shoes and/or handbag.
Another reason to spend more on shoes and handbags? No matter how much your weight fluctuates, these items will always fit. Okay, so now that your ready to make an investment, we’d suggest checking out Endless.com for quality namebrand and designer shoes and handbags. And there’s a way to do it that’s the most cost- and time-effective for busy budget shoppers like yourself. Our tips:
Endless has REAL Sales. Endless, unlike Zappos
, has major sales on designer shoes—we’re talking up to 80% off. Kathryn once purchased a pair of Faryl Robin pumps for $37.00, down from $245.00 and a pair of Franco Sarto red peep toe pumps for $35, down from $95.
Take Advantage of Free Shipping (Overnight!) and Free Returns. Always. This right here is reason number one to check out Endless.com —free shipping and free returns, every day. Let’s face it, the biggest drawback of shopping online is not being able to inspect the actual item (and also that whole impulsive shopping thing, but we digress). So with free shipping and free returns you’re not risking losing more cash on all those mailing fees. Plus free overnight shipping means minimal time spent stalking the mail carrier.
Know That It’s Not About Cheap, It’s About Value. While there are many worth sales on Endless.com , their general inventory is often still not cheap—but it’s frequently less expensive than other sources for the same goods, like Zappos
, particularly the designer stuff, so if you are looking for an investment piece (a classic leather clutch, a pair of brown leather boots you’ll wear for years to come) keep that in mind as you peruse the pricetags.
Always Always Always Click on the Clearance First. This seems like a no-brainer, but even the best shopper is sometimes hypnotised by those fancy “new arrivals” (read: full price) on the front page. If you exercise some willpower and go straight to clearance however, you’ll find plenty there to satisfy, say, your handbag craving—like today, when we clicked and found this Rafe Magedalena Tall Tote (in dee-licious snake-embossed leather), regularly $695, on clearance for $356.90. Okay, breathe—remember, we said it’s about value, not about cheap.
Sign Up for the Email Newsletter. We know, we know, nobody really needs more newsletters clogging up the inbox, however, if you’re serious about your shoe and handbag shopping (and we are) you’ll look at it as a money-saving tool—if you know you’re going to want to pick up those Betseyville Pumps at some point, might as well get the notice that they’re on sale now so you can take advantage of the savings. And if you don’t see anything you like it, it’s really not that hard to click the little delete button.
Find Hard to Fit Sizes. If you happen to be a size 12 EE, your typical shoe selection is probably limited to orthopedic-looking lace-ups or those square-heeled pumps your grandmother is always rocking. Except at Endless. where they offer sizes 4-20, and widths 4A-4E. While we’re not actually a 12EE, we did go ahead and check out the offerings, and came up with, well, some orthopedic looking shoes but also some fab little black ankle boots, leopard trim flats
, and some rhinestone-accented evening sandals. Not bad at all.
The Deal: Through Dec. 24, get half off the everything online from New York & Company.
The Lowdown: Lately, New York and Company is going sale crazy. Every week, we get an email from the store, announcing some major sale.
Most of the sales are of the BOGO variety, but this time around? 50% off everything on the site, which always sounds great but quite frankly is only a good deal if there’s stuff worth buying to begin with. At NY&C, that usually translates to building our workwear wardrobe, and so picking up some classic, neutral trousers for half off, (like these 7th Avenue pants, on sale now for less than 20 bucks) is probably a better investment right now than most mutual funds.
We’ve also found some of our favorite budget-friendly, everyday accessories and jewelry here; the selection isn’t huge, but the quality (for the price?) is pretty darn good—meaning, for example, a “silver” ring we purchase here stays looking, well, like actual silver far longer than similarly priced items we’ve picked up from other “budget” retailers . . .

What: Through Aug. 10, get free shipping on all orders from Steve Madden
The Lowdown: We love Steve Madden, and we love free shipping, so this is a match made in heaven. His shoes, while not super expensive, aren’t dirt cheap either—but they are stylish, well-made, and definitely worth taking a look at for that must-have item to spruce up your fall wardrobe. And we should add, too, that it’s not just shoes—you’ll also find dresses and accessories to choose from.
Our Picks: We love this Bonanza Slouch Boot for fall, $99.95, because it will go with everything from jeans to skirts to leggings, and will take you all the way through the winter (with a little good waterproofing, natch). Plaid will be big this fall (again) as well, and so we kinda dig this little plaid dress with a drop waist, for $79. And finally, we might top off our order with a fun accessory update, like this fab-looking woven tote, on sale for $54.60.
Shop the Sale: Click on the image above or go to SteveMadden.com, but hurry—the free shipping offer is only good through Aug. 10.
What: A website called FreeShipping offers page after page of free shipping coupons to the online version of all our favorite stores. Target. Kohl’s. GAP. The list goes on and on.
What We Say: Our jaws dropped open when we spotted this little gem on Mashable. Those shipping fees on everything from a tiny pair of earrings to chunky black boots have always irked us—it’s just not fair. Sometimes we end up doubling the total cost. But use these coupons every time you shop online and you may never have to pay pesky shipping charges again.
The Deal: Head to Steve Madden for free shipping for orders over $100.
What We Say: Steve Madden is an excellent place to go for designer-inspired footwear. They’ve got the biggest shoe trends of the summer—gladiator sandals, platform heels, metallics, patent leather and T-straps. We see their shoes everywhere and time and time again we’re fooled into thinking the wearer spent hundreds of dollars on them. Get your favorites shipped to you for free.
Check out our picks:
These modern, silver metallic flat sandals are edgy and the five studs on the top look almost punky. $89.95.
You might not want to wear the trends forever—pick up basic flats that will stay in style much longer. These ballet flats are so cute and they come in so many different colors. $69.95
Pictured: Practice walking around the house in these big, platform heels before you wear them out and about. We can’t resist the buckles—don’t know how we’re going to choose between four colors, though. $99.95.
The Deal: Charlotte Russe is offering free standard shipping until June 30.
What We Say: Yay! One of our favorite stores is enticing us once again, and we just might bite. Their clothes and jewelry are always fun and in style, so head there ASAP to find your 4th of July outfit. It’s coming up soon.
Here’s what we’d choose to wear to an Independence Day barbecue:
The plaid dress above. It’s not tacky to wear 4th of July colors as long as you look good doing it. $24.99.
Strappy wedges with a wooden heel—white ones, of course. $22.99.
Balance the sweetness of the dress with twisted metal earrings. Only $4.
The Deal: From June 15-21, get free shipping on any order of $45 and up. Just enter the code SUMMER at checkout.
What We Say: Kiehl’s skincare products for face and body are a favorite of celebrities and women’s magazines. They’ve been around since the 19th century, so you know that what they sell actually works. While they’re a bit pricey, the free shipping is a nice incentive to pick up those items that are hard to find in a drugstore’s beauty aisles, like anti-aging creams, candles and gift kits.
Check out our picks to enhance your beauty regimen:
The Abyssine line helps with fine lines and wrinkles, moisturizes and protects skin from the sun.
If you’re athletic, this rub will help sooth your aching muscles.
When your hair is in desperate need of moisture, try out these Olive Fruit Oil Nourishing treatments.
