Dear Budget Fashionista

I am attending a night wedding aboard a river cruise in Newport Beach. Is it appropriate to wear a floral-ish print skirt, solid color sweater top with pashmina scarf and white sling back shoes? Or is this too “daytime” for a wedding?

A: Although this outfit would be fine for a day time wedding, it’s a little too “day” for a night wedding. The wedding is in the evening on a boat, so think about what you would wear to a dinner on a cruise or what you would wear to a cocktail party.  My advice would be to wear a floral printed cocktail dress (not skirt), like the one shown to the left, for $59.00 at Spiegel.com .
