The Deal: Get $20 off a purchase of $75 or more at New York & Company with this link or code 8130
The Lowdown: While sales at New York & Company are kind of old hat (not that we’re complaining—they’re kind of a budget fashionista’s best friend), there are some new collections to peruse, in case you haven’t spent enough lately (go balance your checkbook if you must—we’ll wait).
If you’re still sticking to that New Year’s resolution to work out more, you might need some motivation (it is February, after all) in the form of some new workout wear—NY&C has a whole new collection, which happens to be on sale now, which makes us think we should start working out again right now. Maybe. And, if the working out has paid off, you might also want to check out their new swimwear collection. The selection is limited, but with black and leopard tankinis, bikinis, and maillots to choose from, we’re content. On that note, we’re looking for our gym membership card right now . . .

The Deal: 15% off dELiA*s entire new collection with code: NEWYR15. Ends Feb. 5, 2009.
b>The Lowdown: While the winter clearance sales are always our first stop, right now, with 15% off your total order, we’re thinking that dELiA*s devotees—you know who you are, and you know what size you need to be to shop there—should consider new arrivals for any spring events that might be filing up their social calendars. We’re suckers for a feminine party dress, and dELiA*s has a few we just might consider—feminine, spring-hued, and flattering shapes—were we not, oh, just a year or two past our prom/spring fling days. Right.
Our top three:
Michelle Dress, $54.50
Bridgette Dress, $44.50
Georgia Dress, $39.50

The Deal: Get 50% off clearance items at OldNavy.com with the code: HALFOFF
The Lowdown: The clearance pickings, at this point in the season, are pretty slim. However, we’re trying to be forward thinking, and while we may not, in the most strict sense, need more layering pieces for spring, at half off clearance (and let’s face it, Old Navy’s regular prices aren’t exactly out of reach) we could be convinced to add a little extra color to what we’ve already got.
Which is why we gravitate to something like these lace-trim jersey knit camis , just 6 bucks each, in the kind of sorbet colors that we see when we close our eyes and dream about April (we wouldn’t bother opening them again, but we’re trying our hardest to avoid doing a face plant in the slush on the sidewalk . . . ).

The Deal: Take an extra 15% off at Banana Republic with code EXTRA15
The Lowdown: Today’s the last day to save an extra 15% at Banana Republic with this coupon code. Make the most of the deal by picking up something that’s already on sale, so the “extra” 15% truly is the hot deal it should be.
We talk a lot about workwear at BR, but as we’re scanning the sales, we’re thinking that this time around picking up a dress or two might be your best bet—after the holiday dress season, there are some big markdowns worth looking at on timeless styles, like this Belted Asymmetrical Dress for $54.99 (regularly $175), this BR Monogram Silk Tiered Dress
for $94.99 (regularly $225), and this Starburst Dress,
$74.99 (regularly $150). Pick one up with an extra 15% off now, and stash it for next year’s holiday party circuit . . .

The Deal: Save up to $15 on your order at Avenue.com
The Lowdown: You might think that Lane Bryant is your only option for work-ready plus size fashion—and with the way plus size is marganilized by retailers in general, it’s easy to see why. But there are a few other options, including Avenue.com: not everything is earth-shatteringly stylish, but it’s definitely one of the few places we’ve found where you can actually find modern looking, office appropriate separates without the plus size sticker shock (the leopard print trench shown, for example, is $69.95)
And, if you happen to be doing some last minute holiday shopping here, not only can you take $10 off orders of $60 or more, or $15 off orders of $85 or more, but you can also check into a free express shipping upgrade, to get it by Dec. 24 . . .
Shop: Avenue.com
The Deal: Through Dec. 24, get half off the everything online from New York & Company.
The Lowdown: Lately, New York and Company is going sale crazy. Every week, we get an email from the store, announcing some major sale.
Most of the sales are of the BOGO variety, but this time around? 50% off everything on the site, which always sounds great but quite frankly is only a good deal if there’s stuff worth buying to begin with. At NY&C, that usually translates to building our workwear wardrobe, and so picking up some classic, neutral trousers for half off, (like these 7th Avenue pants, on sale now for less than 20 bucks) is probably a better investment right now than most mutual funds.
We’ve also found some of our favorite budget-friendly, everyday accessories and jewelry here; the selection isn’t huge, but the quality (for the price?) is pretty darn good—meaning, for example, a “silver” ring we purchase here stays looking, well, like actual silver far longer than similarly priced items we’ve picked up from other “budget” retailers . . .

The Deal: Get $20 off your Gap.com purchase of $100 or more plus free shipping wide code 20FREE at checkout.
The Lowdown: Through Dec. 14, 2008 only, get $20 off a purchase of $100 or more at Gap.com and get free shipping—and the timing couldn’t be better, as the deadline to order online and get gift items delivered by Christmas is drawing near.
We shop the Gap for a couple of reasons: versatile classic pieces that we can use as foundation items for the more trendy clothing in our rotation; and we’ve had good luck with the quality, particularly for the price. No, Gap isn’t the cheapest retailer out there, but the goods will last a lot longer than something from, say, Forever21.
Any—or all—of these pieces would be great additions to any closet: Funnel Neck Moleskin Coat, $78; Low Rise Bell Jeans
, $49.99; and a Flower Print Scarf, $29.50
Shop: Gap.com.
“THIS SALE HAS ENDED” and “THESE PRODUCTS ARE NO LONGER BEING SOLD”
The Lowdown: This is the last day for this deal, so you’ll have to hurry—and we have some suggestions to help you spend your 100 bucks wisely. First, we’re all about gift guides and Old Navy has one—filled with things they deem “colorful gifts”—with a little something for everyone, including these super cute striped Performance Fleece Scarves (perfect for that tween, teen, quirky girlfriend on your list) for just $5. Don’t limit yourself to Old Navy’s picks, however—perusing the accessories (because most of the fashionistas we know are crazy for a cute accessory), we found these Faceted Bauble Necklace
, also just $5 apiece. At this rate it’s going to take awhile to tally up 100 bucks worth of stuff (don’t forget you still get an extra 20% off those prices), so you might as well treat yourself too, to something fab like these Ribbon Trimmed Patent Mary Janes
, on sale for $19.50.

As if Black Friday (the Friday after Thanksgiving) weren’t enough to kick off the holiday season, in recent years we’ve acquired “Cyber Monday”, which is Black Friday’s online shopping counterpart and an opportunity to pick up all those things you couldn’t find in the brick and mortar stores. Cyber Monday (this year Dec. 1) is more our speed, actually, as we much prefer finding the deals while seated in the comfort of our own home; of course, the key word is deals—which means you’ll want to plan out your best shopping strategy to make the most of the offers of the day. To help, we’ve compiled some sites you can peruse this weekend in preparation:
CyberMonday.com—Shop by category, and scan a big list of special deals for the day from retailers like Zappos.com, Overstock.com, Lane Bryant, Target and more.
DigitalEditor.com—Lots of coupons and codes to save big on online offerings from stores like Chadwick’s, Jessica London, Clinique, and more
Couponshare.com—Gives you access to coupons currently available and a peek at coupons that will be available for CyberMonday but are not yet active.
If you have more sources for Cyber Monday deals, please share them in the comments below!
The Lowdown: Cute coats—we’re talking wool, leather, down, and more—at 15% off when you order online at Lane Bryant. As the days get more dreary (overcast gray is so not chic) we’re all about a mood-lifting pop of color—like this
Yoke Detail Swing Jacket, on sale for $132.65.
Shop: Lane Bryant
“THIS DEAL HAS ENDED”

The Lowdown: Use the coupon code EARLYGIFT to get that holiday shopping off on the right foot, meaning 30% off everything (well almost—excludes sale, jewelry and accessories, but still!). Knitwear is always a hit at the holidays, especially when it’s fabulous and designer like this b.chyll Rachel Cashmere Sweater, regularly priced $275 (and that’s before the 30% off of course).
Shop: Shopbop.com with code EARLYGIFT—hurry, offer good only through Thursday, Nov. 13, 11:59 p.m.!
While doing a happy spring dance around my apartment to the hot sounds of 4 minutes by Madonna and JT, I received an email from Piperlime that reminded me that now is the best time to buy shoes for next fall and winter. The online store is having a “top secret sale” (I put it in quotes because how secret could it be once it’s on TBF?), with a coupon code for an extra 15% off already reduced fall and winter shoes. Just use the coupon code TOPSECRET
at checkout to score your savings.
