Beth Ditto is a bona fide rock star, a feminist activist, a cover girl and style icon (she had a clothing line with UK plus size fashion store Evans )– not bad for a poor girl from the Deep South who grew up eating squirrels. In fact, her humble beginnings might just be the reason for her killer style.

“My number-one theory in life is that style is proportional to your lack of resources – the less you have, the more stylish you’re likely to be,” Beth once said, and we totally agree. Beth Ditto isn’t just another perfectly proportioned celebrity with a great stylist. She’s a genuinely real woman, and a genuine fashion genius. Even if her style is a little over-the-top for you, there are still some valuable lessons to be learned from the punk fashionista.

We’re pretty much always obsessed with Jessica Alba. The absurdly gorgeous star has been capturing our attention with her to-die-for fashion and, lately, her cute-as-a-button daughter, Honor, for years.
But these past few months, our infatuation has reached a whole new level. While we adore her red carpet looks, it’s actually her California-cool street style that we’ve fallen head-over-heels for.
What makes her style so fantastic is the dichotomy between her beachy, bohemian taste and her affinity for the latest looks. Her outfits are both laid-back and trendy. Her style may seem complex (she tends to pile on multiple garments and accessories at once), and we could spend hours mulling over each trend she’s worked this year (wide-leg jeans, chunky scarves, cargo pants, etc.), but we’ve narrowed it down to five basics of Alba’s wardrobe. Get your hands on these and you’re well on your way to mastering her awesome style.

Stripes are all the rage now, but trust us when we say that next fall you will be seeing spots. As in polka dots, which showed up on the runways at Stella McCartney, Marc Jacobs and Diane von Furstenberg to name a few. The graphic spots, in white and black, may just be the new neutral. Kate Winslet, ahead of the curve as always, stuns on the red carpet at the premiere of her new HBO miniseries Mildred Pierce in a dress fresh off the Stella McCartney runway. Arizona Muse is the name on everyone’s lips this season. She is the model of the moment, clocking in an impressive 64 shows across four cities this past show season, including all the major shows from Marc Jacobs in New York to Chanel in Paris. Her wide-set eyes and strong eyebrows are hard to miss, but what we love best about her? That she juggles her impressive career as a fancy-pants model with being a mother to 19-month-old son Nikko.
