The Best Swimsuit Brands on a Budget

Budget Swimsuit Brands

What’s more terrifying than trying on swimsuits surrounded by mirrors in fluorescent lights? Paying a small fortune for a piece of body-baring Spandex. But don’t worry, we got your back (seriously, we do) and have put together this list of the best budget-friendly swimsuit brands that help you look good and save a few bucks.

Here’s a few things to remember when searching for a new swimsuit:
- First, it’s usually a good idea to go up a size.
- When trying on suits, give your cleavage a manual boost in the suit to make sure it’s securely in the proper place.
- If you can’t find the perfect fit, suits can be easily tailored. Straps can be shortened and inserts can be sewn into the lining of the cups.
- Once you found a suit you love, make sure you take care of it by hand-washing it after every use, and never put it in the dryer (the heat melts the Spandex).

Get Your Panties Out Of Bunch with These Great Underwear Brands on a Budget

October 18, 2011 by Sara G.Sara G. on October 18, 2011

Pink Panties

There are few things that are as functional as underwear, which can also be an expression of your fashion sense–even if you’re the only one who sees it. So we’ve picked out some of our favorite underwear brands (on a budget, of course).

Some Underwear Buying Tips

- Buy in bulk. When you’re shopping for skivvies, keep in mind that you’ll probably end up with the best deal if you buy in bulk, even in boutiques.
- Look for a cotton crotch. This comes directly from our gynecologist, a short Haitian woman who has practiced for close to 40 years (that’s a lot of va-jay-jays). We do everything she says.
- Buy flesh-colored skivvies. We’ve seen London. We’ve seen France. We really don’t want to see your underpants, so please spend a majority of your undergarment dollars on flesh-colored panties.
- Shop off-priced. Yeah, we love Hanky Panky panties as much as the next girl, but 30 bucks for a pair of underwear is simply ridiculous. Head to your local Marshalls, T.J.Maxx, or Ross (which has great undergarments) and scoop up a pair of cute undies for well under $5.

Check out our picks for the five best underwear brands on a budget.

Halloween Costume Ideas

This post is part of our Budget Halloween Costume & Ideas Guide

Halloween’s almost here (geez, can you believe it??) and we know how hard it can be to think of great halloween costume ideas, without dipping into your Black Friday shopping fun. So we came up some awesome ideas for Halloween costumes that are virtually free and/or super cheap to make.

Halloween Costumes Ideas on the Cheap

For the Single Girl

Queen of the World
.  This is my personal Halloween favorite. Head to the nearest Salvation Army or Goodwill for an old prom/evening dresses. Also look in the back of your closet for those “forgotten” bridesmaid dresses (the puffier and gaudier, the better). Go to Claire’s Boutique and purchase a tiara (usually around $5 to $10), several “diamond” rings, and elbow-length, white gloves. Throw on the “diamond” jewelry, correct that posture, and purchase a copy of Hello (a.k.a. the British version of People Magazine) or British OK at your local Barnes and Noble to learn how to perfect the royal wave (remember: to – wave, wave, touch the pearls). Now, here is the piece de triumph: Have your male spouse/friend/partner dress in a tux and gloves and be your manservant, James, for the whole night.
Total cost: $10.00-$50.00, depending on the size of your kingdom.

Kmart Preview

What: Kmart has been revamping their apparel brands with more stylish on trend styles. They allowed TBF to take a peak at what fashions they have in store for all you budget fashionista’s this fall season.

What We Say: Although Kmart is an affordable chain store we were never crazy about any of the fashions they had to offer, especially if you were not shopping the juniors section. Unraveling threads and so so styles has had us skeptical when it comes to shopping for clothes at Kmart. Well, this year Kmart is doing a 180 and has revamped their apparel collections . For the fall season you will be seeing two new celebrity brands, Sofia Vergara’s and Selena Gomez’s Dream Out Loud line.
