High vs. Low: Sneakers
August 5, 2008 03:59 PM

Most hardcore fashionistas wouldn’t be caught dead without their stilettos, but every once in a while you have to take them off and put on some comfy sneakers. After all, you certainly can’t exercise in sky-high heels (unless you’re Mariah Carey, that is). Everyone should have at least one decent, and still good-looking, pair in their closet. We just don’t believe that it’s necessary to sacrifice style for comfort. You can have both! And that’s why we found cute and comfy high and low styles. So, which is which?

On the left: the Billy JS sneaker by Jessica Simpson, $70, available at bakersshoes.com. On the right: the Bastia sneaker in lamb leather, $465, available at louisvuitton.com.

I have a pair similar to these Nine West ones: http://www.ninewest.com/n/browse/product.s?productId=2897977&source=category&index=3&prodIndex=3&listSize=4&categoryId=2915397&codeName=NWALANCE

Excellent for more casual days and goes well with a print skirt paired with a jeans jacket.

Wow! I was completely wrong in my guess. But I have to disagree with the post a bit. I have exercise sneakers but fashion sneakers have no place in my closet (partly because they’re ugly, partly because they have ZERO support). I’d much prefer comfortable sandals in the summer (I like Clarks and I’m eying some Birkenstocks) and boots or clogs in the winter.
