Shoppers who step on the scale by the register and will receive 10 percent of their weight as a discount.

City Soles (2001 W. North Ave., 773-489-2001; 3432 N. Southport Ave.; 773-665-4233) holds its Nickel Sale on January 5th from noon to midnight. Buy one pair of shoes at full price, and receive a pair of sale shoes for five cents.

Spare Parts (2947 N. Broadway; 773-525-4242) discounts everything in the store an average of 20 to 30 percent this month. All sales are final.

Urban Weddings (1920 N. Damen Ave.; 773-289-3000) celebrates its second anniversary by discounting everything in the store, including veils, headpieces, and jewelry, by 15 percent through the end of the month.

E Street Denim Co. (1876 1st St., Highland Park; 847-433-8338) has discounted 6,057 pairs of jeans by 50 percent.

Art Effect (934 W. Armitage Ave.; 773-929-3600) claims to be holding one of its “best sales ever,” according to a shop spokesperson. Winter clothing and accessories, select jewelry and gifts, are 50 percent off.

Plein Aire (2036 W. Division St.; 773-227-3772) has marked winter clothing down 50 to 75 percent and all jewelry is marked down 35 percent through January 31st.

Cotelac (1159 W. Webster Ave., 773-281-2330; 685 Vernon Ave., Glencoe, 847-242-6030) holds a January Sale this month. In addition to saving 30 to 70 percent on clothing and accessories, save $25 on a purchase of $150 or more, and $50 on a purchase of $300 or more.
