If you’re someone who wears perfume infrequently, then head to the nearest fragrance counter and request a free sample, instead of purchasing a full bottle. Most major fragrance companies, from Burberry to Givenchy have samples of their products. Collect enough samples and you will never have to purchase a bottle of perfume again.

Do you take your style cues from Seabiscuit? Tired of your boring black boots? Do you feel the need to let people know you’re coming?
Well these are the boots for you. Who says horse shoes can’t be sexy . . .
Read MoreAttention Fashionistas young and old…
Wearing your thong outside of your pants has never been in style. Yes, pop princesses like Christina Aguilera and Britney Spears have been seen rocking this look, but they are also worth millions of dollars and live in a special place called Hollywood. Turn off MTV and put your underwear back in your pants.
Read MoreI’m all for the emergence of the ethnic tunic as the “must-have” item for spring. These colorful tops are comfortable, can be worn with jeans or with a skirt, and are available in all price ranges.
But enough already . . .
Another example of the over commercialization of a trend. Remember the Ugg boot? If I see another Old Navy commercial with teens wearing tunics dancing around to corny rap songs, I’m going to throw up.
Read MoreAlthough I’m a big fan of the furniture design shop, Design Within Reach, I still find their products to be a little outside of my price range. For Budget Fashionistas like myself, we have Design Without Reach.
Warning . . .
These ideas are highly addictive
Read MoreThis may sound a bit weird but Vaseline is my favorite beauty product. Yes, it’s thick and can be messy , but this petroleum based products has 1001 beauty uses. As legend goes, this product was found by the chemist Robert Cheesebrough in the late 19th century, who observed local factory workers in Pennsylvania using the rod wax that resulted from the pop rods of the oil wells to protect and heal cuts. Amazing by the products therapeutic benefits, he back to his lab, mixed up so many batches of the key ingredient, petroleum jelly, that he had to use his wife’s vases to hold the ...
Info on Coquette Faux Furriers was just sent to me two days ago and I’m already plotting how to score the faux Leopard Skin Stole. Claire, the owner, started the site in 2002 to provide cruelty-free divas with sexy, glamorous accessories. It’s also a great store for Socialites in Training who don’t have the money to purchase the real thing. The site is not as polished as another one of my alt-favorites, Alternative Outfitters, but what it doesn’t have in web savvy it makes up for in style.
P.S. Thanks Valerie M. for the tip!
Read MoreBy now, you’ve probably heard several lectures on the evils of purchasing knock-off designer bags. On a certain level, buying a knock-off is a bit cheesy, especially when you try to pass it off as the real thing. However, fashion has been knocking off each other since the beginning of style. Remember the Chanel Boucle suit inspired trend of Fall 2003? I distinctly remember Prada, DKNY and even Wal-Mart proudly displaying their version of the classic suit. The major difference between these designers and your favorite stall on Canal Street, is that these pieces don’t have a Chanel label ...
Read MoreStyle Atlanta, Inc is responding to the calls of southern fashionistas by hosting the first Style Atlanta Week, May 1st-May 6th. The goal of the week is “to promote the beauty, fashion and interior design talent as well as highlight the diverse retail experiences available in Atlanta.”
Sounds like a trumped up reason for people to shop in Buckhead. Attend and prove me wrong.
Read MoreAccording to ever hip folks at Fashion Week Daily the bag from the British Leisure company Belstaff (think Banana Republic circa 1988), is the new “it” bag. Seen on the silver screen in the movie Interpreter by the dean of Fashionistas, Nicole Kidman, this overpriced canvas and leather bag is available at Barneys and Berdorf.
Budget Fashionistas, save $550 bucks and purchase a similar bag at Old Navy for $24.50. It looks close enough to the Belstaff bag, which looks like something I bought about 4 years ago at the Gap
. In fact, I did buy a bag exactly like the $600 Belstaff bag at ...
