The Isaac Mizrahi line at Target now goes up to a size 18 and XXL . . . Finally some love for fashionistas with butts.
Read MoreSo, I am shopping yesterday with my mother and my mother-in-law at the Jersey Garden Mall (we were just too lazy to head out to Woodbury). Jersey Gardens is a huge outlet mall located minutes from the Newark Airport and a block or two from the Elizabeth IKEA, the first IKEA in North America. I took them to Last Call Neiman Marcus, an essential store for fashionistas over 40, where we spent an hour and a half trying on 52 items (true!) between the three of us. Of course only seven of those items fit. It is almost like you have to try on 10 items just to find one that fits.

Read MoreWhile being interviewed by a national women’s magazine, I was asked the question, “If money was no option, what designer would you buy?” Hands down my favorite design house (next to dear Chanel), is Lanvin. Revived by the amazing designs of Alber Elbaz ( a.k.a. my baby’s daddy), the French design house was started in the early 20th century by Jeanne Lanvin. While Coco was busy hooking sisters up with comfortable—yet supremely chic—jersey knits, Lanvin was combining net, lace, sequins, and global influences to create a design that was both functional and feminine. She lead her company ...
Read MoreHow do Sarah Jessica, Oprah, and Salma do it? They have a bottomless bank account and an army of stylists. We’ve got the dish for achieving star quality without breaking the bank. The key to looking like a million bucks is not found in a bunch of designer labels, but in how we wear an item. Here are three tips that celebrities (or should we say their stylists) use to create their star looks.
Accessories
The key to accessorizing like a star is to go one step further than you would normally go in adding this final element to your wardrobe. For example, if you normally wear one ...
Read MoreEarlier this year I wrote about scoring a pair of authentic Ugg boots for $19.99 on ebay. I wore the boots so much that they now look like a herd of cattle has trampled on them—twice. So I am on a mission to find a new pair of boots, a pair that is stylish, comfy, and most of all cheap—which is no easy feat (pun intended) when you wear a size 11 shoe.
Fortunately for me, I happen to be in Minneapolis this week. Besides having no sales tax on clothing, the “Mini Apple” appears to be where designers ship their larger sizes. Anyone who has ever tried to cramp their size 11 foot into a ...

This diaper bag is so darn cute, even though it cost $190. However, getting him to change diapers makes it well worth the price.
Last Halloween, I saw a woman wearing a slip with words like “id”,“ego”, “oedipal”, etc written on it. It was a Freudian slip and I thought that it was so clever and certainly was not expensive, and it did not look as if she was out in her underwear.

Silver Screen actress. Take your sexiest black dress, paint the skin that would show in it silver (silver colored hairspray works great), spray your hair black, and only wear black and white accessories. Definitely stand out in a crowd, while still looking FABULOUS!!

Smurfette and Gargamelle. Last year my boyfriend and I were the “budget” smurfette and gargamelle. I wore a plain white dress (job lot or nurse store $3) and wore a blue turtleneck and blue tights ...
Read MoreIf you live in the New York area, you know Daffy’s. For those of you who don’t live in the area, it is cross between a TJ Maxx and Off Fifth, the Saks Fifth Avenue Outlet. Usually my experiences at Daffy’s has been hit or miss. Sometimes the deals are great—like the time I found a pair of Coach loafers for my husband for $39.99—but most of the time I find nothing. . . at least until this week. Daffy’s is having a major sale on its summer/early fall merchandise, with an additional 50% off already discounted merchandise.
I only had $20 to spend and this is what I bought:
