Some designers/labels seem to cater to the younger set (think Alice + Olivia, Rogan, etc.) -- who are the designers/labels that mature fashionistas feel get their style/fashion sense?

Angela, this is an interesting question. And interesting, I think that no one has taken a stab at this. I wonder if it's a matter of these days, women buy what works for them (hopefully) but are not loyal to a label? I tend to buy pieces, not necessarily designers. So, what do I have? I have AnnTaylor pants/skirts (for work) in my closet, a couple of Calvin Klein jackets from Filene's, a couple of Armani jackets--purchased from a huge Designer Dress Days sale that is held in Beachwood, OH every October (great GREAT sale for charity), a DVF wrap dress or two from OFF Fifth, blouses and knit tops from H&M;, jeans from Kohl's, casual pants from the Limited, and a TON of shoes. I guess the only mature fashionista line I could ID would be CHICOs. I've gone in there, but their stuff is very expensive for what you get, IMO.

top favourite: Jones New York. Great classic styles, fresh details.

next favourite: Calvin Klein-- again soft classic clothes that aren't stuffy

occaisionally: Liz Claiborne but the quality with Liz is hit and miss. Style is also slipping a bit.
