I was really excited when I saw that Patricia Fields would have a line at Payless (she, of the Sex and the City and Devil Wears Prada costuming fame). However, now that I’ve seen the shoes, I have to say I am sorely disappointed. While I haven’t seen them up close and personal to gauge the quality, the designs, in my opinion, are dull, dull, dull. Sure, they are shiny metallic (silver, gold, aqua), but a plain pump, a mule, a ballet flat, and some studded flat sandals? Where’s the inspiration? Maybe I’m missing something, but for the prices ($35 for a round-toe silver pump) I’m not feeling terribly excited anymore . . .
