I started doing Bikram yoga as an exercise about one month after I got married, and I’ve kept it up ever since. I get cardio-vascular, strength, and stretching/flexibility all in one workout. And it’s amazing for my skin because I actually break a sweat, which releases toxins. It also gives me a great glow.

If you have cellulite, forget about spending all that money on those creams that don’t work. Instead, do yoga and concentrate on the Awkward series, which firms and tones the thighs like nothing else can.

Best of all, you can do it at home with the help of a book and/or video/DVD, so it won’t cost a fortune.

The book is called Bikram’s Beginning Yoga Class. The only video I know about that’s related is Rajashree’s Yoga for Pregnancy Video. I do the yoga straight out of the book, and it’s been amazing.

Hey, great tip! I’ve dabbled in yoga over the years, and am thinking it might be time to get back to it—for those curious to see what it’s about before heading to the bookstore, you can go to this About.com page for a good overview of poses and workouts http://yoga.about.com/od/yogasequences/u/workouts.htm.

Thanks for bringing this up Machazait—sometimes we forget that good health is the most important part of beauty . . .

I still say that a healthy body is a good body, better than anorexically skinny any day. It’s just that the clothes are sometimes wrong, so it pays to get them right. Not to mention that taking good care of your health is a major moneysaver.
