After seeing some of the discussion on another forum thread about WalMart vs. Target’s fashion, it’s interesting to see that WalMart has tapped Norma Kamali to design an exclusive line for the discount retailer (read the TBF post on the topic here: http://www.thebudgetfashionista.com/archive/norma-kamali-to-create-line-for-wal-mart/).

I’m keeping a close eye on WalMart fashion, and am very excited to see that they’re getting more aggressive about establishing a presence. What are your thoughts about this pairing?

HI Angela,
I saw that too. Now if only I could get over my dislike for WalMart.

from the retail perspective I’m very interested to see how they translate Norma Kamali to the Wal-Mart customer.. When I first heard about it and then wrote about it yesterday- it just seemed a little out of the blue. I’ve chatted with Wal-Mart folks, so I know they’ve been working on a celeb line for a while (lots of celebs didn;’t want to work with walmart), however I feel like a partnership with Liz Claiborne or Michael Kors...might have been a better move..

For those not familiar with Kamali, here’s a link to her website: http://www.normakamalicollection.com/ No telling how this will translate to WalMart however, as Kathryn said.
