Okay, we all want thick, full hair, but unfortunately for some of us, we weren’t born with it. Short of springing for extensions (which is a consideration, believe me) what budget beauty hair products have worked to make your locks more lush? Do tell!

I use volumizing shampoo by Pantene. I love the smell of my hair after a shower! Then when my hair is all damp, I add a leave on hair conditioner and gather up my hair in a fist. It adds more bounce to my curls!

You can try DOVE for your hair. It softens your hair and makes it bouncy. If you want to try something natural you can go for Aloe Vera Gel it is a good natural conditioner.

Try spraying hair spray or spritz on your comb before combing your hair

Wash your hair properly… Many hair stylists say that women don’t wash their hair enough or properly and that may solve all of their hair problems. Before shampooing, give your hair a quick rinse and great one-minute hair massage. This will loosen alot of grease and get blood flowing to the scalp. Then put shampoo onto your hair and give a good thirty second massage without water on your hair. Activate your scalp by massaging with your finger tips, and the outer rim of where hair meets your neck and face vigorously. Then massage your scalp with the water on your hair. Make sure that all the shampoo is out of your hair.

Use a boar bristle brush and brush underneath your hair shaft, brushing upwards. tis is almost like backcombign. that works also. Part your hair on a different side also, this may help.

Use baby powder if you are blond. Cake Beauty makes awesome Refreshing Mists and Powders. A simple spray of water at your roots may suffice for refreshing.

Beemcee you’re so right about the boars hair brush—I started using one a little while back after my hairstylist used it on me, and it definitely makes a difference!

If you’ve got a light brown or blonde hue to your hair, talc powder! Used sparingy hair can look hude when it’s added to the roots. Never use Bumble and Bumble hair powder. I don’t care if Gisele likes it, she’s got a pro spraying that messy gunk in!

If you’ve got more time on your hands, teasing combined with Sexy Hair Concepts Spray and Play Hairspray (What a freakin’ mouthful, bleh) lives up to its name.

It takes seconds,  and makes hair huge! The only drawback is that, like talc, the more you use the dirtier your hair will be by the next day. Beats teasing or backcombing, though.

Go to the haircare aisle of Walgreens. Go waaay to the back of the aisle, and right before the ethnic haircare section you will find things like Rogaine. Look for a green-colored product called Thicker Fuller Hair. They make a couple varieties of shampoo, a conditioner, serum, hairspray and a few other products. Walgreens is the only bricks & mortar store I’ve been able to find this stuff, and unfortunately every Walgreens I’ve checked only seems to carry one product… usually the Instantly Thick Thickening Serum or Revitalizing Shampoo.

My hair is super healthy and thick (i.e. I have lots of hair), but it’s also baby fine and stick straight so it just… hangs. I don’t really do anything with it because 1) I don’t have time, 2) I don’t know what to do or how to do it, and 3) I’m afraid of damaging it. (I’m the same way with my skin, but it’ll be worth it when I’m older!) I’ve been using the Revitalizing Shampoo for a week, and I can definitely see a difference in my hair. It gives lots of volume, feels fluffier and bouncier, and my hair looks and feels cleaner longer—my hair/scalp isn’t even particularly oily, but my hair used to look lifeless and awful if I didn’t shampoo every day. It’s that kind of clean hair feeling you only get when you’ve been to a salon and had someone else washe your hair for you, if that makes any sense. :) A lot of people say it really boosts shine too. I didn’t notice much of a difference in that area, but—not to toot my own horn—my hair is very shiny to begin with. I also bought the thickening serum but haven’t tried it yet. I think I’ll give it a go tomorrow.

I’m not so great with haircare and styling, so I’m probably not very convincing. Drugstore.com and folica.com both have lots of reviews for the Thicker Fuller products—they might be worth a read.

The shampoo is $4.99 for a 12 oz. bottle, and the serum is $6.99 for 4 oz. Definitely worth a try! If you can’t find it at Walgreens, you can order from drugstore.com or folica.com. Both of those sites have a better selection of products also.

my hairs are really thin… :( and gets curled very often i have to do a lot of things to keep them straight. i use oil often to thicken it but it does not really works a great deal. any new products that has recently been released to thicken hair?

i do not have thin hair i have thick curly hair. but many of my friends have thin hair and i consulted them for what they use. a few of them said that they have had success with the herbal essence volumizing line called body envy, it comes in orange bottles.
here is what they do:
Wash hair with body envy shampoo
apply body envy conditioner
wrap hair in towel for 5 minutes
flip head over and comb body envy mousse through hair WITH FINGERS
do the same with the body envy gel
leave hair alone for a few minutes
flip your head over and spray volumizing spray
from this position blow-dry hair moving the dryer in a circular motion

it will cost money to buy the products but they last for a long time.
