The copyright issue is back, as folks in the industry address the issue in Congress (see the article in Women’s Wear Daily: http://www.wwd.com/issue/article/122645)

Okay, we all respect the artistic vision of designers and a reasonable amount of protection that should be afforded to their designs, BUT where is the line? Nothing should EVER be sold as a designer item when it’s not, but could tightening up such copyright laws hinder the ability of more budget lines to deliver stylish goods to the budget-restricted masses? What do you think?

I do think that designer fashions should be protected.  When people or companies copy designer fashions and sell them it is because of a lack of imagination and talent.  These people are making money off of others.  How fair is that?  Also if these kinds of things continue, the price of designer fashions will continue to go up.  And I don’t blame them.  I know that people feel that the price of designer fashion is so expensive that the average human can’t afford it.  That is understandable.  Then buy the same look under a different name.  That is what I do.  And as always, this is just MHO.
