I have a lot of blackheads on my nose. Is there any way to vanquish them? Or any products that will help make them disappear? I’ve tried everything from pore strips to St. Ives facial scrub. If you have any info on extractions, that would help, too. Thanks for your time.

i think the biore strips work okay, but you need to have a daily routine so the pores don’t block back up with blackheads.  i used to use clinique 3 step and found it gave me blackheads. my new regimen that seems to be keeping the blackheads at bay: i use a mild cleanser like cetaphil, then use an oil free moisturizer with sacilyic acid (i use clean and clear oil free) moisturizer. instead of using toner daily i only exfoliate 2x a week with loreal home microdermabrasian kit..  hope this is helpful, good luck!

Steam your nose with a hot water washcloth and let it sit for a while until your pores get soft and ready for the process ahead. Use a La Cross Blemish Remover’s larger tip and push on the side of the blackhead. Make sure to steam for a good 5-10 minutes before. You should get little stringy white things coming out of that pore. I do this on my larger blackheads and it really cleans the whole look up. You may get a bit of redness, but its all normal as long as you didn’t press way too hard. Splash face with cold water a couple times to close up the pores

Thanks for the tips. I really appreciate it. I hope I can find the La Cross Blemish Remover at the local Albertson’s.

also, it helps to do regular scrubs on the area, because even if it doesn’t get rid of all the blackheads, it keeps them nice and level and the skin around it smooth. Even if the blackhead isn’t totally gone, the skin is smooth so the overall look is cleaner and you look fresher. If anything, it prevents the blackheads from becoming acne. I like to make my own sugar scrub at home, using a little bit of sugar with a bit of water and some oil, rub gently and avoid acne. Its really cheap, even if you use olive oil or almond oil - which are ingredients in really expensive scrubs - this is without fillers! Also, baking soda can help with your skin troubles as well. Consider seasonal facials, every 3 months to keep your skin in check! Use TBFs tip to get a facial at aveda salons while they have students to save serious dough :)

Hi…

I found a great report on getting rid of blackheads that I think you might enjoy.

You can find it here:  http://www.articlewebdirectory.net/pdf/article-430.pdf

I don’t know anything about the product but the information is great.

Let me know what you think.

Good luck.

My blackheads have cleared up considerably since I’ve been using Differin for my acne. I also supplement the Differin with a twice weekly application of The Body Shop’s Vitamin C Micro Refiner. It has the additional benefit of giving you very soft and smooth skin as long as you respect the product and only scrub lightly. Its rather aggressive and will leave you raw should you be too enthusiastic about applying it.

I found a new product for blackheads on Sephora. It’s by DERMAdoctor. I forgot the title, but I read reviews and all of them were positive! It’s expensive, but I presume it’s worth it. I think I’ll get it after I use up my Dove cleansing pads for my Dove microdermabrasion gadget. Check it out at Sephora or just search for DERMAdoctor. They also have products to treat keratosis pilaris aka “chicken skin” found on the arms and legs. I have that, too.

UPDATE: I’ve tried DERMAdoctor Ain’t Misbehavin’ Intensive Blackhead Treatment and DERMAdoctor Picture Porefect and I can tell you that they have positive results. The Picture Porefect seems to minimize pores (it took a few weeks for very noticeable results) and the blackhead treatment worked to a certain extent. You should check out the official site and read all the reviews (most of the reviews are 5 stars out of 5). They also have before and after pics of some products. Although, I have to warn you that the products are rather expensive, so it’s maybe not the best budget buy.

Instead, try the Clean & Clear Blackhead Eraser. I used it for about a week and most of my blackheads were gone or not really black any more! I was really impressed with this product, even though it cost so little. It received mix reviews. It doesn’t seem to work for some people or they’re doing something wrong. I recommend that you try it. The official site also has a coupon for you to save some extra dollars. It’s like the Neutrogena Wave, but I think it’s better. The Wave is specifically for smoothing skin out while the Eraser was made to treat blackheads. I recommend it, but you might want to use a pore minimizer because my pores stand out because I have and have had enlarged pores (even though they’re practically blackhead-free).

Read Paula Begoun’s, Don’t Go To The Cosmetics Counter WIthout Me!  You can save some cash and take better care of your skin.  I use the beta-hydroxy liquid and sometimes the alpha hydroxy gel she sells.  SImple and effective ingredients that don’t irritate.  She has a website-you can check out her products or read about inexpensive drugstore varieties.  Good stuff!

Hello! I had the blackhead problem for a long time and have tried several products! They only products that seemed to work for me as I have very sensitive skin were :

Origins Modern Friction

If you don’t want to spend alot the best remedy is honey!

If you click on honey it will bring you to an article I wrote to help others with acne problems. It really was the only thing that worked for me!
