A couple of years ago, I purchased what I thought was a gucci horsebit tote bag, normally priced $2500+ for $300. I thought I was getting a great deal and ran home each day to check my mail box for my dream handbag. When it finally arrived not only was the bag beyond fake, it also smelled like smoke and not the kind of smoke that comes from cigarettes. After 6 months and may paypal mediated fights, I was able to get a refund.

Have you ever been burned by a purchase on eBay? What did you do?

Ouch. Wow, I guess I’ve been lucky so far. I try to only deal with sellers who have 99% plus positives. I read the detailed feeback and ask the sellers questions before I bid. I’m sorry that happened to you. I did buy a DVF wrap dress once that I don’t really think is authentic, but it looks ‘real’ enough. So maybe I inadvertently got burned. But I didn’t pay an outrageous amount for it, $110.
