Ok so I know its a huge trend this season…but I’m just not sure that living in the midwest that I can get away with wearing over the knee boots without people thinking of the Pretty Woman movie.  Any advice or suggestions to make them a bit more wearable?

I totally agree with you!  I just don’t know how, or even if I should, try to pull this trend off.  I think it looks great on a lot of women, but I don’t know if it is a trend that suits all body types…aka, short legs…

I can’t imagine wearing them myself. They remind too much of “ladies of the evening.” I think they could work under a longer dress or skirt, but I’m wondering just how comfortable and wearable they really are. I think I’ll stick with my knee-high boots.

haha!  I kinda thought the same thing too!  But I have seen some women pull it off without looking like “ladies of the evening”.
http://www.jbandme.com/shoes/boots/lucky-brand-gwen-boots-3  this pair is nice because you have the option of wearing them as an over the knee boot, or cuffing them down to hit at the knee.  Also, with the low heel, they are bit more casual.

I actually just bought the Lucky Gwen boot (love them by the way) and at first was a little leery of the look myself, but it’s fun and different and I figure they will go great with my new James denim leggings.  I’m only 5’2 but I think the look can be pulled off with all sorts of body types….just take a peak in some of the newest gossip mags and you’ll see all diff types of stars wearing them.

I often see celebrities (short or tall) wearing knee high boots. I saw Rachel Bilson wear it once (on a magazine) with a short black leather skirt and a plain top. Lisa Kudrow also wears them on FRIENDS, with a skirt and tube top and jacket combo.
