I’m trying to play around with maxi dresses and figure out what heel heights work best. They all look awkward! Do you usually wear flats with your maxi dresses?

I can understand how you would think heels would look weird.  I usually do a flat due to my height, but if I were you I would try a nice wedge…here are a few ideas:

Thanks! Love it! It’s like you read my mind. . . I’ve always been a huge fan of wedges, and I can’t believe I glossed them over.

Flats usually work best with maxi dresses, but if you need height, wedges are your best bet. The heel needs to be thick and substantial.

Since these dresses already give the illusion of height, flats are your best bet. Your heels won’t really be noticed or might get in the way of walking properly.

Have you ever seen someone walking in mules and get the hem of their maxi dress stuck in the backs of their shoes?! I swear I’ve seen that happen before, but I can’t recall exactly when. That is another reason why I don’t want to attempt this, after all your advice. Thanks!

I love maxi dresses! You can wear flip flops or wedges with them! Whatever suits your mood, and the look you are going for.

Dresses to me do not seem complete unless you have a heel- even those good ol stand bye spaghetti strap summer dresses.  Good luck!

I might go with a slightly jeweled sandal with an ankle strap…
