In Style came out with a special issue on hair. It was good, for the most part. However, one thing I noticed, and that I hate, was that there was almost nothing for natural curls. All of the curly styles suggested involved using a curling iron. I have natural curls, and I don’t have the time or the patience to deal with hot tools. Not to mention that curly hair is fragile and doesn’t like hot tools.

My best tip for everybody is work with your hair’s natural texture and shape, not against it. If you have natural curls, learn how to take care of them properly so that they look great even if they’re not formed by a curling iron. The book Curly GIrl: The Handbook is a must-have for that- it really works.
