Question from a Reader:

Cocktail/Precious Stone Rings like amethyst, aquamarine, ruby, pink sapphire. Can you wear those rings everyday or is it something you save for special occasions? I\'m not married yet so I was thinking of wearing it on my right hand.

I think you can wear them everyday as long as the rocks are not too big. I actually prefer precious stones over plain diamonds sometimes. It's good to have some color.

Just realized you said "cocktail" rings. Are those, by definition, rings with really big stones? If so, I personally would not wear them everyday, but I think some people can pull it off.

I am often fashion-challenged but nevertheless I think cocktail rings on anyone other than Liz Taylor would be a nay nay!

Perhaps you could pull if off if you had large hands but by their definition these things are large and over the top. If you decide to wear one, Kathryn, and get raves consider me hopelessly clueless which wouldn't surprise me!

Hey Guys.. I'm sorry it was a question from a reader.. I have a cocktail ring that I got for valentine's day.. it was actually kind of pricey and I wear it all the time.. I think in the right size and shape it is a classy alternative to the big diamond ring and a great alternative for those who are concerned about conflict diamonds

I think they can be worn everyday. My co worker wears one with a black stone ( she always wears black as well) and it looks pretty cute. I dont know if its the black, but its not too overbearing at all.

I like them personally and I have seen people wear them with jeans and tshirts and still are cute. I say wear them like you would any other ring.

Maybe I haven't seen them for awhile. Have they gotten smaller. I remember them as gaudy and big...think Liberace...I am probably out of the loop on this current rage.
