Have you ever bought a lipstick from the store, especially the drugstore that doesn't look the same on you as it does in the drugstore, or for some reason you are yearning for something a bit more subtle or on the other hand a bit more bold? Or do you have enough lipstick in the bottom of the container to last you a week of wear, but adore the color?
I know that some people mix their lipsticks together with vaseline or abaline or balm to create a subtler gloss or to add the good points of their lipsticks together. I tried this once with this very bold red lipcolor that was a touch too strong for my skintone, however when applied subtly would add a glow to my complexion and face. I also had a frosty candy pink with lots of sparkles that I truly despised, but I had bought it and I wanted to use it. I added this beige lipcolor that looked like a soft pink on the swatch but made me look like a corpse. I mixed it with vaseline and some almond oil to have it be a touch less tacky, and I had a perfect peachy pink lipgloss.
Along the same lines, I mixed a bronze gloss that adds a subtle glow to my lips. I mixed balm with that red color and created a natural lip tint for apple red lips for a natural glow. I mixed cream bronzer which was a touch too dark with my peachy pink gloss and created a very pretty bronzy peach color, its was more of a pigmented gloss until I mixed it with vaseline and almond oil for a tinted lip balm.
I started off mixing with my pinky and realized that alot was going to waste trying to get it off my pinky. I used a toothpick and that worked a fair bit better…
Has anybody done something similar?
