These are just the latest in the long line of designers partnering with budget friendly retailers (read more about Mathew Williamson here, and Miss Trish of Capri here). A few years back these were a novelty, but now they’re kind of expected—do you still get excited about these designer pairings or do you not even notice anymore?

I can’t wait for the Matthew Williamson collection for H&M;. I definitely think these designer diffusion lines get noticed or else there wouldn’t be so many designers jumping on the band wagon. It’s a great way to leverage their brand to make it a household name. Just look at the Comme Des Garcon line for H&M;- before it was a real fashionista brand but now a lot more people are aware of the label and Rei Kawakubo (the designer behind the label). Does any one else see this as a good move for designers or am I just too involved in the fashion world?
