The Budget Fashionista

Last night my husband told me he added me as a guest for a dinner event which is takes place next weekend. One week to find something to wear. No, I don’t have an item sitting in my closet. My not-so-secret dread is dressing for evening events.

I am interpreting the dress code as EVENING INFORMAL, as my husband will be wearing a business suit. It’s a quasi-religious event celebrating the accomplishments of a large group of high school students. So, the actual dress will vary widely.

I’d like to avoid the standard black dress or pant suit. Any suggestions? Help!

I don’t know what your budget is, but I only posted links to dresses under $100.

Although the LBD is classic, sometimes it’s nice to be wearing something other than what the majority of the women have on.

I completely understand your anxiety!  Since I don’t know your style, likes and dislikes etc. here are a few options that vary quite a bit.  These are only suggestions, but I would stick with something that isn’t too full in the skirt or too over the top.  Keep it simple and classy.  Remember to relax and have a great time.
