The Budget Fashionista

Looking over the Emmy coverage this a.m., it's interesting to see that there wasn't much in the way of holding back -- lots of bright color, metallics, and dramatic gown designs. Some hit the mark, others were a little off -- personally, I loved Christina Applegates glam retro gown; Olivia Wilde's pleated gown, and Hayden Panettiere's Badgley Mischka gown.

The misses? In my opinion, Eva Longoria Parker looked overdone with this huge bow detail and Kathy Griffin's gown looked like a curtain (including the heavy poorly sewn hem . . . ).

Anyone else strike you? Did you even bother to watch (or look at coverage this morning?) Or does award-show fashion leave you flat altogether?

I have to agree with you on all points. Particularly Eva Longoria - her dress looks like it's about to slip right off her breasts - not a happy look.

I think Cynthia Nixon from Sex & The City made a poor choice, too. She looks washed out and the dress just makes her look like a stick - not doing anything for her figure at all.

I thought Brooke Shields looked fresh and confident and lovely in her bright fuchsia gown.

I must be slow...I'm still analyzing Fall magazines *sheepish grin*

My favorites were Felicity Huffman and Christina Applegate
My Least Favortie was Eva Longoria-sad because she usually wears beautiful dresses!

I also like eva longoria because she dresses pretty nice as always.
