Is it too early to start wearing boots? I’m ready, I just don’t know if people will think I’m crazy.

boots are a fall classic, and as long as you are comfortable in them, ie not in hot weather as the heat from the feet might get unbearable if your area is blistering still, but I say go for it.

I totally agree—it’s sort of old fashioned to base things on Labor Day, but in this case I think it’s valid—it’s after Labor Day, and so it’s reasonable to pull out any fall clothes that, as overtaken by a nap said, are comfortable in the weather conditions . . .

I haven’t pulled out my boots yet (it’s in the 80s where I am this week) but expect to within a couple weeks or so . . .

September is a great transtional month in which you can bring out the cold weather items and mix with warm weather items.  i say boots are fine, especially if you can mix in a light dress (cardigan optional) or breezy top.  If it were July I’d say crazy.

I would have to agree...once september hits it is okay to pair your boots with your transition outfits.  I love pairing a plain t shirt with skinny jeans and a pair of tall brown boots.  Since you still have a t-shirt on you can make it more of a transition look.

I am all about going with the temperature. Depending on where you live, even if it’s September it can still get into the 80’s so it wouldn’t be all that comfortable to wear boots. If it’s cool enough to wear a jacket it’s cool enough for transition boots. If it’s warm enough for a tank you might want to rethink things.

If you ask me, it’s always boot weather. Unless we’re talking about Uggs, which look stupid until the first frost hits.

I think it also depends on local habits - here in the UK, it’s quite common for the girls to wear brand new winter coats and boots back to school, which happens in the first week of September, so even if it’s still pretty warm, everybody else then feels comfortable to get their own boots out of the wardrobe by mid-September.

My guideline is layering: if it’s cold enough to wear two layers: T-shirt and shirt or camisole and cardigan, then it’s okay to wear boots!
